Designing the calm smart home
The promise of the smart home was simplicity. The reality, for years, has been the opposite: a drawer of remotes replaced by a screen full of apps. We think the next decade belongs to homes that quietly disappear into the background of daily life.
Calm technology is not about doing less. It is about surfacing the right thing at the right moment and staying silent the rest of the time. Every notification we don't send is a small act of respect for your attention.
That principle shapes everything from our onboarding flow to the way automations ask for permission. The goal is a home that feels less like software and more like a good habit.
